Why I'm Running

It's Time the Working Class Got Ahead

I'm running because I don't think Democrats know what their party stands for anymore. Our leaders don't seem to know, and the American people sure don't.

My campaign is different. I'm a fighter, and when I go to Washington I will fight for the working class with four specific policies:

  1. Single-payer universal healthcare.
  2. A universal basic income of $500 a month for every American adult.
  3. Eliminating federal income tax on the first $80,000 for families and $40,000 for single filers.
  4. Universal pre-K starting at age 3.

We can afford it by rewriting the tax code, reversing tax giveaways to corporations and the ultra-wealthy—the people who've captured both parties and rigged the rules in their favor. We have to stop electing Democrats who cozy up to those same corporations, vote to pour more money into the military, and twist themselves into knots to keep their donors happy, all while working families fall behind.

I believe in these policies, full stop. They would represent a structural change in our economy—reversing the trend so that instead of the rich getting richer, finally it's the working class that gets richer.
